Kavat factory was founded in 1945 in Kumla, Sweden, an old "shoe town" located 200km west from Stockholm. In the 70's they decided to name their shoes "Kavat", after their family dog. When imports started to flood into the Swedish market from low labour cost countries, Kavat invested in modern machinery, computers and robotics, to compete with manufacturers from overseas.

Kavat keeps investing in cutting edge technology to stay ahead and set the highest possible standard in ensuring environmentally friendly production.

The majority of their high quality children's footwear is still produced in Sweden. Kavat shoes are exported to more than 16 countries worldwide.
